Exhibit B protests -- Equality won't be delivered by divine intervention or entitlement

This is my response to the things stated in the video. I have no opinion on the actual art exhibit because I've never seen it.

I'm all for fairness and equality across the spectrum, especially when it comes to opportunity and agree with some of what's being said in this video, but not all of it.

Slavery was/is a barbaric act perpetrated by greed and a lack of respect for human life.

Having said that, none alive, especially in this video, has had to endure slavery personally though I can understand why those events have cast a long shadow in the psyche. I found it sad that some of the white people who did push for change were mentioned with disregard, almost resentment. You don’t have to tear someone else down to build yourself up. Maybe, as part of the exhibit, you’d rather see black slaves getting their own back on their owners? I haven’t seen the exhibit, is there nothing like this depicted? It can’t all be that, for that would be fictional but perhaps a better balance between the horrors of the period and how people fought back would have resonated more?

I think it’s important to remember that you are not entitled to anything in this life other than a fair shot and many don’t even get that. Neither are you owed an apology or reparations from people who also - did not exist when these atrocities took place. Why would you want innocent people to suffer for the crimes of others? The only thing that would perhaps be appropriate is a payment to repatriate you to the country of your ancestor’s origin. Is this what you want? I wouldn’t. Anything else smacks of entitlement & greed, not justice.

Stop allowing injustices of the past to scar and warp your thoughts in the present and just get on with living your lives. Contribute to your community and society in a positive manner that helps us all, no matter our race, to move forward. Stop believing that a man in the clouds will swoop down and solve all the woes of the world. It’s a cop out and stops many people from making an effort to improve things right here & right now!

If you sheepishly allow yourself to be manipulated by men of no substance, especially those who use religion as a banner, then you are a FOOL! Thousands have preached similar things through the ages, “god will do this, god will do that” – EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM HAS BEEN WRONG. It’s a fabrication designed to facilitate their egos, bank accounts and beds. Put your faith in your fellow humans who make the actual effort to come up with “earthly” solutions to our problems.

War between Nato & Russia?…Who should fight wars from now on?

...The individuals that crave it of course!
The politicians, war mongers (civil & military) and of course the muck stirring sensationalist journalists (propagandists). It's not an original idea but it's a goody and one I think should be constitutionally integrated into international law and enforced by those who usually suffer in war...99.9% of humanity. You know...those not in power when wars pop up.

All these 40-60 year old men with vested interests and agendas galore should be forced by a war referendum to fight in wars the public feel (and vote) are unjustifiable and unworthy of full military mobilisation. The war would be an international dual with those directly responsible for starting and facilitating it actually on the front lines. This is an extremely rare occurrence, even historically! There should be clear rules of engagement set beforehand. Would the war be fought with modern munitions or medieval weaponry? (my personal preference).

The field of battle chosen. Imagine the scene… Putin, clad in armour, sword raised, with his loyal henchman behind him. Cameron on the other side, his chest plate gleaming in the sun, other pro-war politicians in the ranks and look, there's the editor of a certain British tabloid, broadsword in hand. The battle commences and they run toward one another, or hobble depending on their age & mobility. They clash... Both sides can agree on the stakes beforehand and comply depending on the results. Resources, territory etc.

And there we have it. A war waged by those who want it the most with minimum casualties and zero civilian deaths. Perfect and dare I say...entertaining.

Putin - 'I could conquer Kiev in a fortnight'

It's a game for these guys, one that they should be forced to "play" themselves. It’s about time these dudes, on all sides, rattled literal sabres rather than metaphorical ones. I wonder how many people would be so anxious for a war they would be forced to take part in? At least, under such conditions, we'd know that those who pushed for war were willing to back their words up with their own blood and not somebody else’s. Willing to lose their own limbs rather than sending others to lose theirs.

"You do not send men to fight for something that you wouldn't be willing to fight and die for yourself."
This isn't naivety; it’s a moral truism.

There you go -- a small step toward a more peaceful world.

Lastly...To all those who disgracefully support the ambitions of their "superiors" over and above the will of their people.....Your uniform doesn’t define you, it’s just a job. Be a good human first.
